None of what is happening at Bloom would be possible without the incredible team behind it. With our Meet the Team Series, we will be introducing the individuals who are working hard to make all of this possible.
Now, meet one of our most helpful team members, Heather, our indispensable Senior Project Manager:
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Tyler, TX but ended up in Olympia, WA by age 5. I’ve been in the PNW ever since.
What is your role at Bloom?
As a project manager I help clients by organizing, planning, and managing their projects and requests.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Who has inspired you most in your career?
When I first started in tech, I was fortunate to work with a team that helped me learn terminology, logic, and answered all of my layman questions. Their patience has made all the difference in my career. I want to bring that same generosity to all my interactions in my career.
Outside of “Bloom hours”, what’s your favorite way to spend time?
Gardening and time with my kids while gardening (a.k.a., free labor).
How do you define success?
In my home life, I view success as my capacity to support my community. I feel successful when I can provide help and support to the people and causes that are important to me. In my work life I am successful when the relationships I’ve built help solve business problems. Knowing a client so well that I am able to foresee needs or advocate for new functionality means I’ve been successful.
It’s the middle of Summer here in Seattle, what is your favorite drink for these hot days?
As long as I’m with my favorite people, I don’t worry about what’s in the glass. I do love a margarita at an open-air restaurant or a glass of rosé while sitting in the backyard.
What was your very first job?
I rolled cinnamon rolls at Cinnabon from age 16-20.
After a long day of saving wineries at work, what’s your drink of choice?
Wine, of course. I’m still refining what I find delicious and a good value. Accepting samples!
